

Robert John Stege, 85, passed away peacefully at home on February 7, 2015. Bob was born and raised in Matteson, IL and was married to Carole Dullaghan in 1953. Bob volunteered for service in the United States Air Force, and served as an M.P. during the Korean War. He was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. Following his service in the Air Force, he and Carole moved to Tallahassee to raise their family. Bob worked for Sunbeam Bread as a route man and later for Merita Bread, where he was a proud member of the Baker's and Confectionary Worker's Union.
Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed playing softball, quail hunting, gardening, raising goats and making wine. He was a devoted husband, and a proud and loving father and grandfather.
His parents, John and Florence Stege, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife Carole, and children Susan and Michael; as well as his brother James Stege. He is survived by his children Mark Stege(Julia), Pamela Stege Tricquet, Matthew Stege, Thomas Stege(Mikki) and Timothy Stege(Ginger). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, who gave him much joy: Jennifer Stege Park, Sean Stege, Sara Stege, Elizabeth Tricquet, Katelyn Tricquet Lang, Aimee Tricquet, Christian Tricquet and Grant Stege. He was the proud great-grandfather to Aiden and Amelia Park, Magnolia Lang and Marilyn Stege. He is also survived by his sisters Marilyn Mason (Bob), Marsha Leitzman (Thane, deceased), Karen Glass(Bob) and brother Johnny Stege(Billie).
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15 at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home on Timberlane Road. Burial will be on a date to be determined upon the completion of the National Veteran's Cemetery in Tallahassee.
