Rowena Carolyn Grimes Bazo

Rowena Carolyn Grimes Bazo, 72, passed away on November 3, 2012, in Tallahassee, FL.

She was born in Sopchoppy, Florida, to Daymond Grimes and Nolie Grimes Maxey. She moved to Tallahassee, FL in 1957 where she worked for the State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

Rowena is survived by her daughters, Alicia Black of Niceville, Donna Lewis (Jack) of Tallahassee and Maria Crawford of Tallahassee; her mother, Nolie Grimes Maxey of Tallahassee; her brothers, Philip Grimes of Crawfordville, William Grimes (Betty) of Crawfordville, Robert Grimes (Carolyn) of Tallahassee; and sister, Melanie Jernigan (Rick); as well as four grandchildren, Daniel Lewis, Andrew and Morgan Crawford and Tyler Black.

She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Kenneth Bazo and her father, Daymond Grimes.

There will be a gathering of friends and family on Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 1 - 6pm at Rowena's. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
