Passed away on Sunday, Aug 18, 2013 in Tallahassee, FL. He is survived by his loving wife Pamela and two children Elin and Roy III. He was born and raised in Southside Chicago to Roy and Margene Erickson along with his two younger brothers Dennis and Paul. His love for automotives was surpassed by few and the abandoned streets of Chicago are where he gained his initial education of mechanics where he would later apply his passion into his career.
He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater where he received his degree in Business Administration. Throughout his life he was a national sales manager for multiple aftermarket auto parts entities excelling in the art of negotiation by providing his customers and friends with the most difficult accolade to attain within sales, a reputation of honesty and integrity.
Although cars were his passion his family was his life. Countless hours spent laughing at the dinner table, being brought to tears from a practical joke, and the never ending humor made him the man we knew. These are the emotions and memories evoked by the recollection of him by those he has left behind.
He was a man who embraced the art of being clumsy, rarely missing the opportunity to break a toe on an unsuspecting coffee table, and a man who never disappointed at being the life of the party. He was a man of wisdom, intellect, and compassion for those he held dear, and a fierce friend to those who had the privilege.
Yes, he was a man in every sense of the word and he truly believed in the concept that “Although things in life may change us, we always start and end with family.”
