Ruby was born in Pontotoc County, Mississippi on November 4,1926, to Alford and Lona Mann. She married Donald Benoit in 1947. They raised two daughters, Connie Armour and Gail Balser, in Coral Gables and West Palm Beach, Florida. Upon Don's retirement in 1987, they moved to Tallahassee, Florida, and were long-time members of Fellowship Presbyterian Church.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and daughter, Connie. Ruby is survived by her daughter Gail (Brian) Balser and son-in-law Ross Armour; four grandchildren, Debbie (Phil) Richman, Julie Baker, Jeff Balser, and Brittany (Tyler) Carman; and four great-grandchildren.
The family held a graveside service on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park in Tallahassee. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: Big Bend Hospice 1723 Mahan Center Boulevard Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
