Sam Emery Kirsch was born on September 2, 1990 to Michael and Marjorie Kirsch in Tallahassee, FL. He passed away September 6, 2018 at the age of 28. Sam was an honor student at Leon High School and studied biochemistry and philosophy at Florida State University. He was a bright, sensitive, and inquisitive person - very observant of the world around him.
An insightful entrepreneur, he began his own business ventures when he was a small child. He was the class accountant for his preschool, tasked with counting and keeping track of the field trip money in a painfully honest manner. At age 4, he picked vegetables from the family garden and sold them to the neighbors. That Halloween, he painted ghost portraits with his friend Diego and went door to door seeking out interested investors. In his early teens, his sister Mariah enlisted him to invest her tip money in penny stocks in exchange for half the profits, always coming out ahead. Later he developed several successful E-bay businesses, sussing out creative market niches others would never think of. When asked what he wanted for his recent birthday, he responded "a good book and good Oolong tea.”
Sam loved animals. He loved his family. He often traveled with family photos tucked in his wallet as he moved place to place. He is loved dearly by his family.
He is survived by his father, Michael Kirsch; his mother, Marjorie Kirsch; his sister, Mariah Kirsch; his brother, Henry Kirsch; and his cat Felix, in addition to many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
