Shirley Ruth McElwain

Shirley Ruth (Davis) McElwain, age 69, of Crawfordville, Florida, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013. She was born in Bergoo, West Virginia, on February 4, 1944, the son of the late Carmel Carl and Mary Geneva (Riley) Davis. She moved to Florida after spending much of her adult life in Portage, Indiana. Shirley was retired from being a Customer Service Representative in the Financial Services Industry. She loved to bowl, take care of her children and work with her beloved flowers. She is survived by 2 sons, David McElwain of Wheeling, Indiana, Carl McElwain (Theresa) of Tallahassee, Florida, and 1 daughter, Paula (McElwain) Noor (Noriza) of Tallahassee, Florida, along with 1 sister, Rickey Lea Williams, of Crawfordville, Florida. Shirley was widowed from David Bryan McElwain after 23 years of marriage. She lived with her devoted companion Thomas Ellis of Crawfordville, Florida, for more than 26 years. She was preceded in death by both father and mother. Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home is handling cremation services at her request. No other services are planned.
