Sibyl was born on August 22, 1924 in Mississippi to Ulysses and Sibyl Little. After graduating from high school in Birmingham, AL she attended and graduated from The University of Alabama, taught there and met and married Vaughn Mancha. In 1960 they moved to Tallahassee where Vaughn served as Athletic Director and faculty at FSU for many years. Sibyl was active in her church, loved Christ and His Word and raised her children to trust in Him and serve Him.
Sibyl is survived by her children, Clare Mancha Klein (California), Nan Mancha Edwards (Georgia), Vaughn Mancha Jr. (Florida); four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn; sister, Eugenia Shurbet and her parents.
A memorial is scheduled for March 3 at Tallahassee Bible Church, 4830 Bradfordville Rd, Tallahassee at 11 AM with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Sibyl’s life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tallahassee Bible Church.
