He is survived by his wife of 39 years Hazel. Two sons Alex (Mya) of Cairo, GA and Jon of Boston, MA; grandchildren Oliva, Gabe and Ben, his mother Edna of Hollywood, FL; sisters JoAnn (Bob) Sime and Frances (Michael) Housman.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association .
