
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia, his sons Thomas and Michael, daughter-in-law Renee, and his grandchildren Grace and Grant, all of Tallahassee.
Tom was born in Providence, RI on January 14, 1925, the son of Patrick and Mary Doyle Glennon. He served four years in the US Navy during WW11 as a radioman second class. Tom moved to Canaan, CT in 1955 to take a teaching position at the North Canaan Elementary School. He retired from that position in 1982. During his teaching career he served as President of the Connecticut Education Association. Tom was elected to the North Canaan Board of Selectman and served for two years. He owned and operated The Cordial Shop in Canaan for 6 years. He and his wife moved to Tallahassee, FL in 2003 to be near their family. Tom will be honored on July 28th by 5 of his former students who accompanied him on a 54-day trip to Alaska, Canada and across the United States in 1962. They will be planting a tree at the North Canaan Elementary School that can be seen from his former science classroom. A plaque will be placed at the foot of the tree commemorating their trip.
All memorial services are private and at the convenience of the family.
