Trixie "Bo" L. Smith, Sr.

Trixie L. “Bo” Smith Sr. of Woodville, Fl. passed away at his home Monday, December 2, 2013. Born June 10, 1951, In Tallahassee, Fl., he was the son of the late Harvey Smith and Daisy Whitefield Smith. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Thomas and Alvin Smith and a sister Bettie Rae Nix. He retired from Florida State University after 25 years as a painter in the Housing Department.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Connie Smith; his son Trixie Smith and wife Misty, two granddaughters Brigette and Daisy; his daughter April Smith-Shoemaker and husband Robert. His brothers and sister in-laws: Harvey and Linda Smith of Clevland, Ohio; Ira and Gertie Smith of Woodville, Fl. His sisters and brother in-laws: Faye and Mark Crago of Tallahassee, Fl.; Ellen and Harold Nix of Jasper Ga.; Margie Smith of Lexington, Kentucky. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bo is also survived by a very special cousin Delphia Smith-Caudle who lives in Pembroke, North Carolina, and many other friends and relatives.

Bo will always be remembered as a family man, one who would go the extra mile to visit his family and friends and he loved to have family gatherings. He could light up a room when he walked in and he always knew someone everywhere he went and if didn’t, he met new friends. His high energy and the desire to live life to the fullest and was known by all. He had a passion for custom cars and was one of the founders of the Tallahassee StreetRodders Car Club (originally Rod and Custom Car Club). Traveling to many car shows throughout the southeast and was a member of the National StreetRodders Association.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at White Primitive Baptist Church of Woodville. Services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013, at 3:00 p.m., at White Primitive Baptist Church of Woodville and his final resting place will be at the Woodville Cemetery.
