Vendle L. Mathenia, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Heritage Health Care in Tallahassee. She was born to Jeff Caple and Mamie Brown Caple on May 13, 1923 in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Vendle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Luther F. Mathenia of Ill.; one son, Luther Franklin Mathenia, Jr.; two brothers, Robert and Ivan Caple; and one sister, Lou. She is survived by one son, Philip W. Mathenia and one daughter, Joyce Mathenia, both of Tallahassee.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park at 700 Timberlane Road in Tallahassee.
