Stalking the woods has just begun,
Come spring may smiles adorn your face,
Knowing I’ve gone hunting…in a better place”
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vincent Steadfield Cartwright, Jr. age 78, who died peacefully on November 12, 2025 in Tallahassee, Florida. Born in West Palm Beach, Florida on March 14, 1947, he was a devoted husband and loving father.
Vincent Steadfield Cartwright, Jr. worked for over 40 years as an electrician, where he was known for his hard work and dedication to his trade. He was also a man of honor and integrity, who was committed to his family.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was most often at “The Camp” spending time outdoors. He took great pride in his role as a father and grandfather, and his love for storytelling will be cherished forever.
He was preceded in death by his father Vincent Steadfield Cartwright, Sr. and his mother Gwen Atwell, as well as brothers Larry Cartwright and Gary Cartwright.
He would tell you his greatest accomplishment was meeting a blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl when they were both 13 years old and creating a beautiful love story which lasted 65 years.
He is survived by his wife Judith Cartwright of 58 years, his daughter Alyson Riccione (John), his sons Vincent Cartwright (Alicia) and Samuel Cartwright (Katie) and grandchildren Caroline Cartwright, John Riccione, Morgan New, Courtney Cartwright, Dominic Riccione, Ashley Cartwright, and Ava Riccione.
Visitation will be at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home and Memorial Park (700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32308) on December 13, 2025 at 2 PM.
The family will hold a private memorial at Camp Longbeard in Jefferson County at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that you would consider making a memorial contribution in Vincent's honor to The Wounded Warriors Project, The Alzheimer's Project or to your favorite local charity.
