Colonial Vincent “Vince” Versurah Sr, 92, passed peacefully Saturday July 18th. He was born in Granby, CT in 1922 and as a youth was fascinated with airplanes. He was an Air Force fighter pilot who traveled and lived all over the world during his 30 year military career. He served as a flight instructor during WWII, flew in the Berlin Air Lift, and served in the Korean and Viet Nam conflicts.
For the last 37 years he enjoyed an active retirement in Tallahassee. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree from FSU, attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church, and was a member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA). He also enjoyed golfing, coaching baseball, cooking, and playing card with friends.
Proceeded in death by his 3 sisters and son Vince Jr. Survived by his wife of 37 years: Gloria, step-daughter: Loreal LeGate and family, step-son: Chris LeGate and family, granddaughter: Lauren Barresi, and numerous devoted nieces and nephews.
