Virginia Kathryn “Ginny” Davis, 66, died Thursday in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She was born in Tallahassee in 1947 and graduated from Leon High School. Ginny attended Wesleyan College in Macon, GA and graduated from Florida State University. She worked as a social worker, legislative aid and strategist on numerous political campaigns in Florida and Louisiana. She was on the campaign staff of Jimmy Carter during his 1976 Presidential race. Afterward, she worked in his administration in Washington, DC.
Ginny is survived by her brother, Tal Davis (Barbara) of Suwanee, GA, two nephews, Joseph (Lindsay) and Stephen of Sugar Hill, GA and two great nieces, Kaylie and Kinley Davis.
Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Shelfer Cemetery in Havana, Florida.
