

Virginia “Ginger” Catherine (Rodgers) Lepley, 68, passed away on Monday, May 28th, after a nearly five year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Spencer, and her two children: Joseph, 26, and Amy, 18, along with three sisters: Julia Denmark of Calhoun, Rae and Ed Elder of Irwin County, and Jane Rodgers of Irwin County. Nieces and nephew are Barbara Baldree of Macon, Teresa Jeffords of Calhoun, Chuck Giddens of Woodstock, and Karen Smith of Fitzgerald.
Ginger was born January 30, 1950 in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Ebb H and Avis Rodgers. She grew up in the Land’s Crossing community of Irwin County, Georgia and graduated from Irwin County High School and Valdosta State College. She married Spencer in 1972, and the two of them moved to Tallahassee in 1981. She worked in Technical Processing at the Tallahassee Community College Library until her retirement in 2016. All her life Ginger loved crafts, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She always wore some homemade trinket for special occasions and holidays. She was a voracious reader and she enjoyed the puzzles in the newspaper. Her greatest passion was saved for raising her children whom she loved dearly.
Ginger will be remembered by her friends and family as always having a smile on her face and finding humor with life. She will be missed.
