First SGT Warren M. Forrest, of the USMC (Ret.) (Semper Fi!), completed his last order from the highest authority to report to his place in heaven on December 30, 2024. Waiting for him with open arms were his loving parents, Wayne and Louise Forrest.
Warren had several different occupational paths in his lifetime, first and foremost, he was a decorated Gulf War Marine veteran. His life in law enforcement started as a correctional officer, working his way up to deputy, detective and investigator for the State of Florida. He was once a COO for a law firm, a manager of a roofing company and retired from AC work.
He had many passions in life. He was an avid golfer and had his own annual tournament with friends on the FSU/UF game weekend. He was a devoted FSU fan, even in the last few years when it has been difficult. He loved to ride his Harley on a beautiful day. He was a loving and challenging brother, friend, uncle and ex-husband to more than a few. We will all miss the hilarious way he could tell a story, not a bad attribute for a golfer to possess.
He is survived by his devoted friend and companion, Laurel Allie; brothers, Terry Forrest, Darryl Forrest (Linda); niece, Mysti Mims (Justin); great niece, Autumn Mims; estranged nephew, Matthew Forrest (Jamie); and sister-in-law forever, Karlene Forrest.
Services with viewing will be on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road from 10am - 11:30am with interment with full military honors to follow at the Tallahassee National Cemetery at 12pm.
