
Wilbur Eugene Trotman, 70, of Tallahassee, FL, passed away on April 19, 2013, in Blountstown, FL, at River Valley Rehabilitation Center after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
He was born March 7, 1943, in Tallahassee, Florida, to the late John Carl and Janie Lou Bradshaw Trotman. Wilbur graduated from Leon High School in 1962, and he left shortly after to begin active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps. He served six years in the reserves following completion of his active duty. When he returned to Tallahassee, he started college and earned his B.S. degree from Florida State University. Wilbur was employed by the L.M. Berry Company in advertising sales for telephone directories, and later sold filing and library equipment to local medical offices and libraries. He also worked in his later years managing rental properties.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Dice Trotman; and his children, Bradley Trotman and wife Joanie, Barry Trotman and wife Kelly, and Sidney Trotman Campbell and husband Grady Campbell. His four grandchildren are, Hunter Trotman, Liam Trotman, Avery Campbell, and Benjamin Campbell. Wilbur came from a large family, and he is survived by eight brothers and sisters, Sylvia T. Greeley (Rod Stelter), Patricia T. Cheshire, John D. Trotman (Shirley), H. Leroy Trotman (Dot), Joyce T. Wages (Tommy), Joan T. Stout (Gary), Rodney K. Trotman (Edith), and Daisy T. Barker (Ian). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins who live in the Tallahassee area.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Mark Cheshire.
The funeral will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Faith Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Interment will follow the church visitation in Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park.
