He was born March 3, 1959, in Tallahassee to Roger William and Jacquline Fort Griesbaum. Bill served in the United States Navy, and was a 30-year veteran of the Florida Highway Patrol, retiring at the rank of sergeant.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill loved hunting and fishing on Lake Miccosukee, the Aucilla River, and Piney Woods Farm in Quitman, GA. A kind hearted man, Bill was always ready to help those in need.
He was blessed with a large and loving family. Bill is survived by his wife, Elvira Edens Griesbaum; step-daughters, Aaren Strickland (Jeremy), and Kaaren Edens; Grandchildren, Justin Sevy, Layla and Maleah Renfroe; sister, Maria Nell Long; niece, Lucy Long Gitlin (Zachary); nephew, Dr. William David Long, Jr (Amanda); grand-nephew, Wiley Crawford Long; and grand-niece, Sawyer Elizabeth Long.
Memorial services will be held at Culley’s Meadowood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Rd, Tallahassee, FL, Tuesday, March 15, at 3:00 pm. The Family will begin receiving guests at 2:00 PM.
