

William H. Wilson, Sr., 90 a life-long resident of Tallahassee, died October 21, 2013 at Westminster Oaks Health Center. William “Bill” was born July 14, 1923 to William “Big Bill” and Mae Edna (Rankin) Wilson and remained in Leon County all of his life. He served in the United States Army Air Corp in World War II and among other things helped perfect the Norden bombsight, the world’s first computer. He managed his family business, Wilson Beach Cottages in St. Theresa Beach. Bill was an ardent FSU Seminole fan and Booster and was a member of the Elks Lodge, Tallahassee. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard L. Wilson. Bill; is survived by his wife, Dorothy who resides in Tallahassee; his son, William (Kathryn) Wilson, Jr. of Tallahassee; his daughters, Anne (Bill) Stamer of Hillsborough, NC and Ming (Dean) Lee of Cairo, GA; his six grandchildren, Dylan Stamer of New York City and Damian Stamer of Hillsborough, NC, Dillon Bradley-Brown of Tallahassee, William Wilson, III of Tallahassee, Amanda Lee of Tallahassee and Clyde Lee of Cairo, GA and his three great-grandchildren, Dylan and Carson Lee of Cairo, GA and Landon Bradley-Brown of Tallahassee. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday at Roselawn Cemetery in Tallahassee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bill’s memory to your favorite charity.
