

Williemae Jackson, 90, was born on August 24, 1932 in Tallahassee, Florida to the late Herbert and Lula Brooks Brown and was preceded in death by her sister, Gracie Mae Lincoln. Williemae was joined in Holy Matrimony to George Calvin Jackson, Sr. on July 18, 1955 and thrived in this union for 51 years. This union was blessed with three children: Angela “Ann”, George Jr., and Michael R. Jackson. George Sr. preceded Williemae in death.
Williemae matriculated at Lucy Moten Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School, “Home of the Tigers,” receiving her primary and secondary education. Upon graduation, she began her post-secondary education at The Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida for both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Elementary Education. Williemae, further, completed a State of Florida Department of Education Certification in Elementary Education and enjoyed 26 years serving as a dedicated public-school educator in Collier County (Immokalee, Florida) and Leon County (Tallahassee, Florida). Prior to her career in education, Williemae’s employment experiences included W.T. Edwards Hospital and Sunland Mental Hospital. Williemae was an excellent and deeply committed teacher who made a dynamic difference in the lives of the students she taught.
Williemae accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church where she faithfully attended Worship Services with her family. Williemae was civic minded and committed to serving her community through organizations which allowed her opportunities to serve mankind including: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated , Delta Kappa Omega Chapter; Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, Phi Delta Kappa Sorority, National Association of University Women, Capital City Democratic Women’s Club, Episcopal Church Women and the Jake Gaither Women’s Golf Club.
Williemae, an avid golfer, enjoyed swimming, traveling, shopping, touring numerous restaurants, learning new technology skills with her devices, and spending time with her family. Additionally, Williemae found great joy caring for her pets: Faith, Angel, Feathers, Tabitha and Raven. Granddaughter Eboni (fondly called “Ebby”) was the delight of Williemae’s heart. She was blessed to enjoy Friday pickups for weekend visits with Eboni and daily afterschool pickups throughout Eboni’s K-12 school years.
On August 31, 2022, Williemae escaped this earthly realm and entered into the joy of eternal rest. She will be greatly missed by her loving children: daughter, Angela N. Jackson; son, George C. (Hilda) Jackson, Jr.; son, Michael R. Jackson all of Tallahassee, FL; one granddaughter, Eboni Y. Jackson; one grandson, Rodrecius (Laurinda) Jackson; one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Jackson all of Tallahassee; nieces and nephews: Veronica Sanders, Clinton Davis, Jr., Annette Little, Emily Harper, Brenda (Billy) Venson, Carolyn Corbin Butler (Clayton), Rev., Dr. Herbert Corbin, Jr., and Rev., Dr. Kimberly Corbin; and a host of cousins and close friends. Williemae’s memory will forever be cherished and live on through all of us.

A visitation for Willemae will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church, 1405 Melvin Street, Tallahassee, Florida. An entombment following the service will occur at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312.
