Wylda Veronica Stauffer, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, in Tallahassee, Florida. Born in Cairo, Georgia, on December 11, 1929, Wylda and her late husband Warren moved to Tallahassee from Miami in 1983. She was a homemaker and in her later years worked for Elder Care Services in Tallahassee.
Mrs. Stauffer was interred at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park in Tallahassee, Florida. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Stauffer is survived by one son, Edward (Carlotta); 8 granddaughters, Tracy Stauffer, Lauren Williams, Carrie Nunnery, Michaella Watson, Chelsea Menchise, Lisa Hines, Joi Dible and Jessica Rigdon; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Stauffer and daughter Deborah Rigdon.
The family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to the wonderful staff of Big Bend Hospice, who helped to make Mrs. Stauffer's last days peaceful and comfortable.
