

On the afternoon of October 8, 2015, Yvonne Bradberry passed from this Earth to her Heavenly home. She was born on July 1, 1937 in Pembroke, Georgia to Willis "Bill" Collins and Ethel Thompson Collins. The family eventually moved to Apalachicola, Florida where she grew up and established lifetime friendships. After Yvonne graduated from Chapman High School, she moved to Tallahassee to attend Lively Vocational School and study Cosmetology. While in school in Tallahassee, a friend introduced her to the love of her life, her husband, John Bradberry. Yvonne was a devoted wife and mother. She cherished her family and her strong bond of love will remain forever in their hearts.
Yvonne was a longtime member of Seminole Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for close to fifty years. She was dedicated to her church, her faith and her family. Yvonne always loved children and was a kind, patient and loving teacher. She spent many years ministering to children and enjoyed teaching her 4 and 5 year olds in Sunday school. She had the privilege of teaching generations of children at Seminole Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, John Bradberry; two daughters, Sheila Lanier (Steve) and Sharon Bradberry both of Tallahassee;
one grandson, Matt Miller of Tallahassee; three granddaughters, Maya Levy of Tallahassee, Ashley Lanier of Woodbine, Georgia and Kelsey Lanier of Gainesville, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Billy Collins and Dennis Collins, and a nephew, Alex Collins.
Services are scheduled for Monday, October 12 at Seminole Baptist Church, 3330 North Mission Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32303. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 with the service to follow at 11:00. The graveside service will be at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park located at 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312.
The Bradberry family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of our family, friends, neighbors, and church family for the many expressions of support and sympathy during the recent loss of our beloved, Yvonne. Special thanks and recognition is given to Dr. Amit Jain and his staff, and healthcare workers from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Cancer Unit, Suncrest Omni Home Care and Big Bend Hospice of Tallahassee.
