Ann Marie Gordon, affectionately known to her loved ones as “Kay” or “Ann,” was born on February 12, 1970, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Sophia Anita Morgan and Linton Cameron. She was the firstborn child for both her mother and father, and from early on, carried a sense of strength, responsibility, and grace that would define her life.
Ann began her educational journey at Miss Fenton Basic School, then continued to Chapelton All Age, where she built a strong foundation for her academic and personal growth. She later attended Norman Manley High School, where she was known for her warm yet fierce personality, resilience, and strong sense of leadership. While there, she was a proud member of the track and field team, served as a prefect, and was actively involved in the student council, reflecting her commitment to excellence both in and out of the classroom.
She was a devoted mother to her five sons: Ricardo, Damein, Trevor, and Matthew, from a previous marriage, and Delroy Jr., from her union with Delroy Gordon. Her children were her pride and joy, and she worked tirelessly to nurture and support them with love and strength.
Ann was also a proud grandmother to twelve grandchildren, each of whom brought tremendous joy and meaning to her life. Her face would light up with love and laughter whenever she spoke about them.
Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She loved her church deeply and remained committed to her spiritual walk. Even during her illness, she made every effort to attend services whenever possible, always striving to live a life that was pleasing to God. Her quiet faith and enduring strength were a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Ann also had a joyful, vibrant side. She enjoyed shopping and especially loved visiting Macy’s, where she often picked out something special, either for herself or someone she loved.
She was a beloved sister to Omar, Sheryl, Tamekia, and Suga, and her bond with each of them reflected her loyalty, humor, and love. Though her mother, Sophia, passed away in 1995, Ann carried her mother’s spirit with her always. Her father, Linton, survives her.
Ann’s life was one of quiet endurance, unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and a generous heart. Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, siblings, and all those who were blessed to know and LOVE her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
