Dear Monique, 
Accept my condolence on Mom's passing .
I pray you feel the Lord's comforting presence as you go through this time of planning her homecoming service. 
Bertha was a wonderful friend, always willing to give advice. I really missed our regular  telephone conversations. Memories remain.
For you , I know there are treasured memories. I hope you can find strength  and comfort when you reflect  on those good times.

Bertha suffered much.

Today, I remember a beautiful person whose life reflected grace, strength and dedication. She was more than a client - she was a motherly friend, a fellow stylist who understood the joy and artistry of our shared craft. 
Each visit to her home to get her hair groomed, was filled with laughter, stories and a gentle warmth. Her face would brighten when I arrived and together we’d reminisce about the days when she styled hair in her own home back in Jamaica- days filled with purpose, creativity and genuine care for her client’s hair. 
Even as illness came, her smile remained strong when she hears that I am coming. I could feel the same warmth emanating from her even though she couldn't express herself vocally anymore.
Though she has gone from our sight, her memory remains like the scent of hairspray and laughter lingering softly in the air. I'll forever cherish the moments we shared, the wisdom she passed on and those joyful times. 
Rest peacefully Ms. Bertha! Though your hands have laid down the curling irons and combs many years now, your touch will always live in the hearts of those who knew your love and your craft.

You didn't deserve what you went through and so he gave you rest.
