During his formative years, David attended Bridgeport Primary, and Excelsior High School. He enjoyed a great childhood growing up with his sister and mother. As a child, David had a very curious mind. David would pull apart small electrical appliances, then reassembled them, though not always successfully. His mother recognized his talents early and would encourage him to explore. This curiosity sparked a passion for building and creating with his hands and as he grew, that ability was perfected. He was a natural engineer, that was his God-given talent, and he used it masterfully throughout his life.
During David’s preteen years, the Walker family met the Latty family, through their mothers shared employer and a bond of friendship quickly developed between the two families. Through that union, David met Simone, his childhood sweetheart and in1989 their life-long partnership began. They were married in January of 1996, and were blessed with two children: Kimberley, born in October 1997, and Jason, born in October 2003.
At the age of 19, David worked at Tropicair Jalousies Ltd. in Kingston, Jamaica, as an Aluminum Fabricator, specializing in designing, building and installing windows and glass doors. He remained with the company until the age of 32. In June 2001, he immigrated to Yonkers, New York, where he resided with his wife and their young daughter, Kim. The family relocated to Florida the following year, in 2002.
That same year, David joined America’s Best Windows & Doors (formerly Ability Jalousie Doors Corporation), where he worked as the Production Manager until his untimely passing on May 30th.
David took great pride in his work and played a pivotal role in the company's growth and success.
He was deeply grateful to have both a daughter and a son—his children were his pride and joy, and his greatest accomplishments in life. David was a devoted and committed father who raised his children to value honesty and to use wisdom in all they did. One of his most well-known sayings to them was, “It’s just common sense.” David always encouraged his children to think logically in their decision making.
Cooking was one of his passions! Any dish jerk flavored and peppered were his favorites to prepare for his family and friends. David took great pride in his home and enjoyed doing renovations to make it a beautiful and welcoming space for his family.
David was a devoted christian and served as an ordained Deacon at his former church, Jubilee of Praise in Ft. Lauderdale. There, he also served as the Transportation Minister. He later joined The Faith Center, where he worshiped with his family until his passing. David’s faith in God remained strong and unshaken.
On Friday, May 30, 2025, we lost a beloved son, devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and dear friend. Our peaceful, humble, and loving David was called home to be with the Lord.
He leaves behind his beloved mother, Patricia Rocker; the love of his life for 36 years, Simone Walker; their two children, Kimberley and Jason; his sister, Tracey; sisters-in-law, Janiece and Natalie; brothers-in-law, Chubby, Romain, and Peter; his niece, Jaylyn; nephews, Michael, Nickolos, Ashton, and Nasiel; along with his two aunts, six uncles, many cousins, and dear friends.
May his soul forever rest in the sweet presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
