Ena McLennon, affectionately known to many as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 90. She was born on May 24, 1935, in Morant Bay, St. Thomas, Jamaica, to Moses and Winnifred Black, the third of their five children.
Her early years were spent in St. Thomas before the family relocated to Vere, Clarendon, where Ena attended Race Course High School. With a strong sense of purpose, she later trained at a business school to become an administrative assistant—a career path that would serve her well throughout her life.
It was in Clarendon that Ena met the love of her life, Roy McLennon, through her older brother Muslem. They were married on May 9, 1956, and together built a life filled with love, faith, and dedication, raising three sons: Raymond (Tony), Michael, and Rudolph (Wayne). Ena worked for over a decade at the Citrus Company in May Pen, followed by several years at the Clarendon Parish Council. In 1964, the couple purchased their family home in Oliver Gardens, where they remained until they migrated to the United States in 1980.
The family settled in Queens, New York, where Ena worked at Standard Motors. She continued to be the heart of her family offering love, discipline, guidance, and unwavering support to her children. In time, Ena and Roy made their home in Miramar, Florida, where she worked at Premier Beverage Company until her retirement.
A woman of deep faith, Ena was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness throughout her life, serving her ministry with quiet strength and joyful commitment—from May Pen to New York, and finally Miramar. Whether participating in field service or leading book studies, she gave her time freely and wholeheartedly. It was the work she loved most.
Ena’s life was one of generosity, devotion, and dignity. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of encouragement. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and service.
She is survived by her sons Raymond (Tony), Michael, and Rudolph (Wayne); daughters-in-law Sherry and Sharon; grandchildren Alex, Briana, and Matthew; her beloved brother Nehru (Uncle Bunny); and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Miramar, located at 1821 SW 97th Ave, Miramar, FL 33025, on July 26, 2025, starting at 2:00 pm.
