Even in death Grandma's legacy lives on— a powerful one that will continue for generations. No matter what, family must stay strong together and  in the hard times we must cling together. Her strength, her life's sacrifice poured into us  will not be wasted and will continue to overflow and fuel the next generation. Grandma you will be truly missed but never forgotten.

Ahhhh ! Ms Gloria Sunday rice n peas. I have often wondered how she did it.  There was always enough dinner to share no matter how many people showed up and I must say, it was and still is the best rice n peas I’ve ever  had.  

Our families shared some wonderful times together, some of my most treasured childhood memories include Ms Gloria and her family.  Hanging out on a Sunday evening, waiting up up for her to get home when she returned from the US, (barrel come 😀) Grand Market night and her stall being the meeting point in Mandeville and, if we didn’t get anything for Christmas we were sure to get some money from Ms Gloria. 

Ms Gloria was one of the kindest, hard working persons I’ve known. And now that I’m older,  I can reflect on persons and experience that have positively impacted my life and without a doubt, Ms G was one of those persons. 

We were not just family, she was a good  cousin and friend to my parents,  someone who my father could count on when he need help. 

Gone but will never be forgotten, the wonderful memories of you will always live on in our hearts.  Thank you for sharing a wonderful ride with us.

I don't think the 2000 character is enough for my memories of Ms. Gloria (Laya) as her children affectionately called her. I remember how every Sunday that God sent, she would tell us "come take this dinner for your grandma (Ms. Vie.)" Oh my, if we could get away with being at Ms. Gloria every day, we were there, both me and my brother Danny, and not to mention going to the market, and hanging out while Ms. Gloria sell a variety of things. The memories of watching television with the family, and spending time with all her children, and my dear friend Baby Ann as everyone always calls (Ann.) I consider them all my family, when the rest of my biological siblings were here in the States, I would imagine who is who since a few of them are similar in ages as my biological ones. And, when I came to the States, I would always rave about how wonderful they were and all are. Ms. Gloria was a great woman, and has reared a great family, she will be truly missed. We were lucky enough to be blessed by Ms. Gloria, and it hurts that she is gone, but we will never ever forget her. Rest in peace 'Laya" We will always cherish the wonderful memories. Campbell Family, we are here for you, and know that we are praying for your comfort in such a time. And even though she is no longer with you, keep her alive within your hearts. With a sincere heart. I have many memories of my sister Gloria but the one that stands out in my mind is the story of my pig. When my mother left Jamaica for America  she left me a small pig to take care of and to sell it when it matured. I was about 13 yrs old. The pig was not growing fast enough because I didn’t have enough food for it, so I asked my sister if she would keep the pig at her house where there was more food. Well of course she agreed and my pig found a new home where there was definitely more food than I had . So I would visit Gloria’s house very frequently where I would also be fed. So my sister wound up feeding both me and my pig. I’ve never forgotten her kindness to me so as an adult whenever she would say  “put something in mi hand nuh” I wouldn’t think twice about it. So thanks sister Gloria for your love and kindness to  me and my pig, you left a great impression on me, may you RIP.

My sister Gloria is in our memories and prayers. She had a caring and selfless nature.  She took me in as a young teenager and provided a safe home while I waited to come to the US. I will forever be grateful.  May her soul rest in peace.

While I didn’t grow up near  Gloria, for as long as I can remember I have heard many stories of her. She sounded like  a tower of strength. Her home is the  place where family would go when  they needed help and somewhere to stay. I know she will be missed and I am very sorry for her  family’s loss. May she rest in everlasting peace.

Just want tell you  that your Mother was a great and lovely Lady I remember her  when she was doing her business in Jamaica 🇯🇲 I would called her and asked her to give some money to my family, until she comes up to USA because it was much easier  than sending it in the mail , she was more thank happy to do the favor without any problems, may  her precious soul sleep well until the that getting up morning when we will all meet up again .🙏🏽💔

Layer or miss Gloria as I know you. You were a tower of strength,  a strong virtuous woman. You were the  other grandma for my children especially Janae.  You lived a full life, one that can be emulated by just about anyone.

My sincerest condolences to the family of Gloria (Lela) Campbell. Lela was one of the most loving and caring mothers that I've ever met. Every well behaved and mannered child in the community was cared for and mothered by her. We the Chambers (Corpie) children and especially the boys were favored by her.
