(May 13, 1949 – August 4, 2020)
Mr. Harry Passard Sobaram left us for his heavenly home on August 4, 2020. Born on May 13, 1949 to Eugena and Pramsuck Sobaram, Harry grew up in St. Johns Road, St. Catherine, Jamaica, attended Friendship All Age School and had a typical childhood growing up in 1950’s and 60’s Jamaica. In 1969, Harry moved to Bushy Park, St. Catherine where he started a family with Audrey Creary, and that relationship produced three children, Richard, Karen, and Carolyn.
In 1979, the relationship between Harry and Audrey came to an end, and in the early eighties, he started a new family with Phyllis Barker (Bibby) producing two more children, a son, Yashpal and daughter, Alicia – Harry and Bibby remained together for almost 40 years until his passing.
Other than a few years working at the Cremo Ice Cream Company in the late 1960’s, Harry spent his entire career as a contractor and business owner. Over his lifetime, Harry was known for his love of dominoes, as well as, an avid cricket fan. However, his greatest passion was people, especially his family – he loved his family and his community of Bushy Park, where he left a reputation for throwing the best parties and for helping anyone who needed it.
He is survived by his five aforementioned children, two stepchildren, Franz and Francene, brothers, Joseph (Baiya), Miace, and William, sisters, Icy, Gee, and Marie, 14 grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
