Keith was born in St. Thomas, Jamaica on November 11, 1949. His parents were Eva Whittle and Sydney Gayle and his sister is Beverly Gayle. Like most Jamaicans, Keith had quite an extended family and he spent most of his younger years growing up with his cousins, Phyllis Burke, Lloyd (Monks) Goslin, Hyacinth (Babylou) Goslin, Herbert (Berty) Lutas, Rosemary (Tita) McNeil and Mary Goslin. He loved them all dearly.
Keith married Lorna Henriques in Kingston, Jamaica on December 21, 1974 and they remained married for 38 years. Keith and Lorna have three daughters, Carla (Donna) Jones-Brown, Nicola (Nikki) Jones and Kareen (Reeny) Jones. Keith felt most rewarded by his daughters and loved them fully and unconditionally. He would always let his daughters, and everyone know how proud of them he was.
Keith was a Master Craftsman who loved to create beautiful wood furniture, a craft that he has enjoyed since the age of 16. He has traveled across the country on many occasions to create his fine woodwork for both homes and hotels. Also, many of his woodwork are a part of the first built condominiums on Williams Island in Miami, FL. Keith worked many years at James Cello, Inc. where he made many lifelong friends. After leaving James Cello Inc., in 1998 Keith opened his own business, Keith Jones Master Craftsman, Inc. which he operated for 10 years.
After he retired from furniture making, he took a position with a law firm that required that he learn how to navigate the various counties’ court system as well as the various personalities of the lawyers he worked with. Although he never did this type of work before Keith handled it with confidence. With his charisma and charm, he befriended many of the lawyers and the clerks within the court system and it was gravy from there. They all loved him and when he was not around they would always ask “where is Mr. Jones today?”
Keith was just a cool person. He brought good vibes to this earth and he will be deeply missed and celebrated.
Keith is survived by so many family and friends who will forever love and cherish the memories of him. Just to name a few:
