On March 13, 1957, Solomon & Mennie Williams welcomed their 15th child, a bouncing baby boy, given the name Kelvin Lamar Williams. He brought much joy to the house. He grew up as a member of The House of God, Elder R.L. Hardimon) until he later joined New Birth House of Prayer for all People under the pastorage of Dr. Queen W. McCormick until his transition.
Kelvin was educated through the Broward County School System: Lincoln Park Elementary, Everglades Jr. High, and Stranahan High Schools. He then went on to Job Corp in Kentucky where he acquired both his General Equivalency Diploma and certification in Office Management.
For many years he worked with the family business, Williams Brothers Recycling, where he worked as an Alloy Specialist and rebuilder of vehicle alternators and generators.
Kelvin never married nor had children but he had well over 200 nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. In 1974, he lost his best friend and brother Daryl in a tragic auto accident, which was very difficult for him. Then in 1986 another tragedy occurred to a second brother, Ronald Keith, which was the turning point of his sorrow making it hard for him to digest. Kelvin and Ronald sang as a gospel duo, travelling throughout the states spreading joy in great harmony in song. This brotherhood lasted until Ronald transitioned; he was his musical partner and sports buddy.
Kelvin's life was still vibrant...he wrote many songs like "God's Going to have a Ball and I'm going to be there", then there was "What would You Give to Gain Eternal Life". There were funny songs that he wrote that the family enjoyed like, "Peppermint Patty". The family song that brought joy on any occasion was "Heaven Is my Home" Kelvin departed this life on February 2, 2026 at Cleveland Clinic Hospital Indian River in Vero Beach, Florida.
He leaves to lament his passing, 10 siblings (mom and dad passed away several years ago): Dr. Queen McCormick & 5 daughters, Frances Meredith (Odie) 4 daughters), Dr. Mary Drummond (Bentlyn) 1 daughter & 2 sons, Dr. Lillie Bryant 1 son & 2 daughters, Benjamin Williams (Josephine) , son & 2 daughters, Memphis Jerome Williams 3 sons &1 daughter, Dr. Verna Michel (Louis) 1 daughter & 2 sons, Yolanda Williams 1 daughter, Joyce Williams 3 daughters and Kendrick Williams; and a multitude of other relatives and friends.
