Lawrence Buggie affectionately known as “Larry” passed away on September 1st, 2020 at the age of 74. Lawrence Edward was born on January 18,1946 to Elizabeth & Boyd Buggie in Charlottesville, Virginia. Lawrence joined siblings Warren, Minnie, Nannie, Lloyd, and Lenwood. He lived his formative years in Virginia, going to school and helping out with household chores. During many conversations he would say “this generation has it easy”. As a family they would harvest fruits and vegetables to last them through the winter. Hard work was instilled in him from a child.

On January 10,1963 at the age of 17 he joined “The United States Airforce”, following the footsteps of his older brothers. In the military he began to travel. For a country boy this was exciting. He spoke of the experiences he encountered while traveling to other countries. There was a time when his unit traveled to Germany, and he was told no colored airmen were allowed to exit the plane during a layover. His unit decided that if he was not allowed off, then no one would exit. They remained on the plane with him until their next stop. He faced many adversities but felt an immense sense of pride to serve his country. During his time in the military he was introduced to aircrafts. He became an aircraft mechanic. He received an honorable discharge in June of 67.

Larry was living on 789 St. Marks avenue when he was introduced to Margarita. On June 21st, 1969, they were married and began their journey together. In May of 73, they welcomed their first child a girl they named Tamara Elizabeth Buggie. They purchased their first home and moved to Queens.

Lawrence was hired by Pan American World Airways as a Jet Engine Mechanic. On May 16, 1985, they welcomed their second daughter which they named Jessica Lynn Buggie. In the summer of 88, Larry relocated his family to South Florida. Larry enjoyed traveling, cooking, fishing and playing cards.

Larry joined the UPS family and forged many lasting relationships, He remained with UPS until he retired.

Lawrence is survived by his wife Margarita of 51 years; Brother Lenwood(Ros), Sister Minnie(Leroy), Sister In-law Maria, Daughter Tamara(Clifton), Daughter Jessica, Grandson’s Jevaughn, Tamarr, Kemari, Darnell, Jamal(Shaker), Granddaughter Kyla, Nephews Jason(Danya), Leland(Carmen), Eddie, Mark, Donald, Nieces Brenda, Sandra, Regina, Tracy, Angie, Grand-pup Milo and a hosts of great nieces and nephews, Family and Friends.
