He served in various capacities and his last position was President of the chapter for several years. He worked with Hill Top Juvenile Correctional Center, in the cool hills of Bamboo, in the Parish of St. Ann. Lloyd was a part of a team of correctional officers, responsible for juvenile welfare. Following this, he worked for Life of Jamaica in Kingston. In 1981, he migrated to the United States, where he lived in the Bronx, New York. He attended The City College of New York and received his Bachelor of Arts. He managed a record store in the Bronx for many years and while doing this, he was also a popular disc jockey on the side. Lloyd also worked for United Parcel Service (UPS).
He relocated to South Florida in 1987 and worked in management with Custom Air. He then became an entrepreneur forming his own company, Baltac Aviation, for 26 years and Marcia’s Café with his wife Marcia for 10 years. Lloyd had a strong faith. He loved the Lord and was a member of Christway Baptist Church until his passing. Even when he fell ill, he would still attend service online every Sunday regardless of where he was at the time, home, hospital, or rehabilitation center. In the various facilities, Lloyd was supported by family and friends, and he was a light wherever he went. He would lift the spirits of others even when he was struggling himself. This speaks of the amazing character that he had.
Lloyd and Marcia were married for 22 years and enjoyed many activities together including dancing, fishing in the Florida Keys. Whatever they caught, they would grill on the spot and enjoy with music. Lloyd thoroughly enjoyed Marcia’s cooking. He loved to dance and sing and was always the life of the party. Marcia was his devoted partner in life and love and did her utmost best for him until the very end.
Lloyd loved his family dearly and treasured every moment that he could spend with them. In addition to his wife, Marcia, they were his heartbeats. He was always proud of their achievements and would brag about them. He had very strong family ties and maintained these strong ties, not only in the U.S., but also in Jamaica.
