Marie Jocelyne Lubin was born on May 24, 1953, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to her beloved parents, Fortune Lubin and Espère Aniska, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the third of four daughters, growing up alongside her sisters, Marie Mick, Marie Mireille, and Colette, sharing a bond rooted in family and tradition.
She received her early education at Celie Lilavois School and later pursued professional training at Gilberte Vieux College. In 1985, Marie courageously emigrated to the United States in pursuit of greater opportunities, carrying with her unwavering determination, resilience, and deep faith.
A devoted and nurturing mother, Marie poured her heart into raising her sons, Alexander Castin and Geraldy Lubin, whom she loved unconditionally. She was a constant source of strength, always present and willing to sacrifice for her family. Her home was a place of warmth, where family and friends were always welcomed with open arms.
Marie’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. In 1989, she became a dedicated member of Full Gospel Assembly in Fort Lauderdale under the leadership of Pastor Yvon Georges. Her love for God was evident in her commitment to worship, prayer, and her desire to grow spiritually through scripture and song.
Known for her generous spirit and strong work ethic, Marie worked as a store clerk at 7-Eleven from 1989 to 2014, where she built lasting connections within her community. She later served as a school crossing guard from 2014 to 2018, continuing her dedication to serving others.
In 2018, Marie began her journey with dementia, a battle she faced with quiet strength and dignity. During this time, she was lovingly cared for by her devoted son Alexander and her cherished daughter-in-law, whose compassion and support brought her comfort.
Marie Jocelyne Lubin peacefully departed this life on April 3, 2026, at the age of 72, at Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving sons, Alexander Castin and Geraldy Lubin; her daughters-in-law, Obnika and Sabine; her beloved grandchildren, Dimitri and Gabriella; and her dear sisters, Marie Mick, Marie Mireille, and Colette.
She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews; Carline, Evelt, Erns, Vanessa, Valerie, Alexandra, Sofia, Dwight, Jantzsen, and Christanie; great-nieces and nephews, including Leocarl, Ralph, Ariel, Jonathan, and Stephane, along with many extended family members and loved ones.
Marie’s life touched many, including the Lubin, Castin, Cherfily, Jean François, Querette, Noël, Latigue, Laforet, and Cetoute families, as well as countless friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness and love.
During this time of remembrance, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their prayers, presence, and support.
Though she is no longer with us in body, Marie’s legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will forever be remembered, deeply missed, and lovingly cherished.
