Mary Isabel Rosalie (Rosie) was born on December 3rd, 1936, in Kingston, Jamaica to Edmond and Elizabeth Howell. She was the 2nd of 8 siblings (Jocelyn, Louis, Jessie, James, Eileen, Merlene and Myrna - all living). Mary attended Alvernia All Age school in Jamaica. Mary later married Ruke Williams (deceased) in 1953. Just short of celebrating their 62nd anniversary, Ruke died tragically in 2015. Mary and Ruke had 3 children, Clive (deceased), Jewel and Paul. Mary followed a career path in the retail service industry, working at Issa Brothers, Oxford Pharmacy and later Kingston Industrial Garage as Credit Administrator until her retirement in 1986.
In 1986, Mary migrated to the US where she spent the next 23 years taking care of the elderly until she decided to fully retire in 2009.
Mary loved people and no task was too difficult for her. She was kind and generous - wherever and whenever she saw a need to lift someone up and make a difference, Mary would. She loved her family beyond words, especially her grand and great grandchildren who were her ultimate pride and joy. She would always bring her specialties to family and other social gatherings – ginger beer, sweet potato pudding and rice and peas, just to name a few.
Mary is survived by her Children, Jewel and Paul; Daughter-In-Law, Hope; Grandchildren: Darren, Danielle, Dale, and Tristan; Grand Daughter-In-Law, Janelle; Grand Son-In-Law, Meondae; Great grandchildren: Blake, Mason, Malachi and Micah, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary (Rosie) will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
