With hearts filled with love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Muriel Louise Dyce, a devoted mother, faithful servant of God, and cherished family member whose life was marked by grace, resilience, and unwavering faith.
Muriel Louise Dyce was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica, to the late Arnold and Ivy Bramwell. She spent her formative years in Jamaica, where she developed the values of faith, hard work, and compassion that would guide her throughout her life.
Seeking new opportunities, Muriel migrated to Chicago, Illinois, before eventually settling in New York City. There, she built a successful career as a legal secretary in Midtown Manhattan, earning the respect of colleagues through her professionalism, dedication, and meticulous work ethic. Once settled in New York, she also assisted her two younger sisters, Shirley Hinds and Barbara Bramwell, in seeking the same opportunity she had found in coming to America. Sadly, both sisters predeceased her. In 1989, Muriel relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she embraced the tranquility of retirement and enjoyed the next chapter of her life surrounded by family and friends.
In the 1950s, Muriel met C. Reginald Scott, and from that union came her greatest blessing and only child, Raymond George Scott. Raymond was truly the pride and joy of her life. Their bond was one of deep love, unwavering support, and treasured companionship that remained strong throughout her lifetime.
During the 1970s, Muriel met Kenneth L. Dyce, whom she later married. Their loving marriage was built on companionship, mutual respect, and devotion, lasting until Kenneth's passing in 2002. Though she deeply missed him, she carried his memory with love and strength.
Muriel's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved the Lord wholeheartedly and found great comfort in reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and worshiping God. Her quiet faith was reflected in her kindness, humility, and generous spirit.
She also found great joy in cooking delicious meals for those she loved. In her younger years, Muriel enjoyed traveling, creating many cherished memories with her beloved son, Raymond. Together, they embarked on memorable Greyhound bus trips to Canada, visited Washington, D.C., marveled at the beauty of Niagara Falls, explored New York, and frequently returned to their beloved homeland of Jamaica to reconnect with family and lifelong friends. These journeys became treasured moments that strengthened their special bond and created memories that will live on forever.
Muriel will be remembered as a woman of quiet strength, enduring faith, and unconditional love. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a loyal friend, and a source of comfort and wisdom to those who knew her. Her gentle smile, warm heart, and steadfast trust in God touched countless lives.
Though she has departed from this earthly life, her legacy of faith, love, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories that will forever be cherished by her beloved son, Raymond, extended family, dear friends, and all whose lives she touched.
