Lascelles George Williams was born on June 2, 1936, in Harkers Hall, St. Catherine, Jamaica, to Miriam Thompson and Phillip Seymour Williams. He was the second of seven children and developed a lifelong love of learning despite leaving school at an early age due to financial hardship.
Affectionately known as “Seymour,” Lascelles accepted Christ as a young boy and remained a devoted servant of God for more than seventy years. His ministry began at the Church of God of Prophecy on Old Hope Road in Kingston, Jamaica, where he became known for his gifted preaching, teaching, and leadership. He served faithfully in numerous roles, including Sunday School Superintendent, pastor of the Sugarloaf and Bowden Hill congregations, and Parish Secretary for the Church of Prophecy Markers Association. In 1980, he was ordained as a minister in the Church of God.
Lascelles was married to Evadney Morgan in January 1960, and together they raised a family grounded in faith, integrity, and hard work. He later married Barbara Kelly in November 2001, and together they faithfully served at the Church of God of Prophecy in Lauderhill, Florida, as associate pastors.
Professionally, he worked for more than thirty years with Courts Jamaica Limited before immigrating to the United States, where he spent nearly twenty years as a security officer.
On May 28, 2026, Lascelles peacefully entered eternal rest. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Barbara; his brother, Neville; his children and stepchildren; grandchildren Ashley, Brittney, Shanice, Morgan-Lee, Justin, and Kristina; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and a host of relatives, church family, and friends.
