Affectionately known to some as Mom, Auntie, Grandma, Sister, Cousin, Friend, Patty, Ms. Patrice, Ms. P, etc.. Patricia Galeano was born on September 18, 1952, to the late Ednamay Lindo & Gerald Peynado, in Kingston, Jamaica. She was the eldest of 2 girls, her sister being Beverly St. Valliere. She attended a community college in Kingston, Jamaica, achieving her associates degree. After college she went to work for Nova Scotia Bank and Royal Bank in Kingston, Jamaica. Thereafter her son Omar Prendergast was born in 1985, shortly before she decided to migrate to the U.S. in the late 80s. While in the U.S. Patricia met Joel Galeano in 1996 and was later wed as husband and wife in 1998. In 2001 she and her husband became faithful members of the Worship Center now Revivaltime Tabernacle Worship Center. In 2010 she was diagnosed with breast cancer but triumphantly became a survivor.
Patricia shared a wide-ranging love for romance and comedy genres, whether in the form of reading archie comics, mills & boon romantic novels, watching Abbott and Costello or a good Nigerian movie, she relished in them all. She also enjoyed various genres of music (of course romantic music), playing puzzle games, good Italian food (especially from Olive Garden), peanuts, cashews, gardening and living vicariously through an exciting HGTV episode. In her later years, she received the most pleasure out of spending time with her extended family, nieces, and her grandbabies (especially when given an opportunity to play a rousing game of hide and seek over facetime or even better, a chance to sing great hits such as “you are my sunshine” or “clap your tiny hands” to her grandkids)
Patricia was granted her angel wings On September 10th. She is survived by her husband of 23 years: Joel Galeano; son: Omar Prendergast; grandchildren: Apryl and Bella; siblings: Beverly, Annette, Tony, Garth, Coneleta, and Sharon; nieces: Chauntelle, Tameisha, Jonele; grandnephew: MJ; cousins: Pamela Lee Hazel Burke, Richard Burke and a host of other relatives and close friends who will miss her dearly.
