Obituary

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

A TIME TO BE BORN:

Pierrencine Charlot was born on May 3rd, 1925, to Deligence Toussaint and Pierremiese Pierre-Louis in La Noir, Anse-a-Foleur, Haiti. She was the fifth child out of nine children.

A TIME TO LIVE:

In 1950 she married her husband Lucame Charlot. Together they had five children. In 1968, after the death of her husband, she left for the Bahamas. In 1969 she came back to Haiti and lived in Port de Paix, Nan Chale. There she raised her 5 children with the help of family and friends. In 1992 she migrated to the United States. She became a Florida resident where she traveled every 6 months to visit her children in Nassau and Haiti.

A TIME OF SICKNESS:

In 1992 the doctors in Haiti discovered an illness and was unable to do anything due to their lack of medical practice and medical tools to see exactly what the issue was. When she migrated to Florida, she seek medical assistance and the doctors discovered the illness and mentioned she will need to have surgery. The doctor mentioned if she gets the surgery done, she will not live long, and if she don't, she will live about 20 more years. We decided to not have the surgery done. In 2015, Pierrencine got really sick due to her illness. She was placed in Hospice at home. After a few weeks, she got better and was off hospice. In 2016, it got worst again, but she got better. The doctors predicted 20 years, but God said 26 years.

A TIME TO DIE:

After a long battle of sickness, she quietly departed this life on Saturday July 28th, 2018 at Jackson North Medical Center in North Miami Beach, Florida peacefully from among all whom she loved. Her earthly journey ended and she took a rightful place with the angels in Heaven.

My Darling, Grandma

A woman of extreme strength, courage and love I’ve always adored how much you love your family, and to be honest that will forever stick to me and inspire me to have that kind of love.

I miss you everyday grandma, and there’s not a day that I do not think about you. I wish that I saw you one last time, and I wish I got to say a proper goodbye, because kissing you on your forehead was not enough. But I’m just glad that I got to tell you that I love you one last time.

I’m sure everyone here has memories much like mine. They are good memories, something we’ll always have to cherish. It isn’t often in our lives that we come across someone so special, that the person stays with you forever. My grandma was that kind of person.

The only way to get hurt in this life is to care. Grandma cared more than most, loved more than most and was made to suffer more than most because of just how much she cared. But no matter how many times she was knocked down or made to endure things that no one should, she just kept coming back; caring more and loving more- opening herself up to even more pain. Yet there were never any complaints or bitterness -it was the only way she knew how to live.

I will make sure that one day to tell stories about you to Ava. And I will tell her how happy I am that she had met you. My Darling Grandma, as you enter your new heavenly home, may you rest in peace for which you truly deserve. For you will be truly missed and remembered for your love and honor in which I will preserve. I love you always and forever and may God be with you.
