Sharon Rose Green, affectionately known to family and friends as “Rosie,” was born on December 17, 1953, in Port Antonio, Jamaica. She was the first living child of seven children born to loving parents Phyllis and Leonard Lee.
Sharon attended schools in Port Antonio, where she developed her skills and passion for hairdressing at a young age. She attended beauty school and pursued her passion for hairstyling. As a young woman, she was known for her vibrant personality, infectious smile, and love of life. Sharon was often the life of the party, bringing joy, laughter, and warmth wherever she went. Independent, ambitious, and determined, she was a true go-getter who never hesitated to work hard for the things she wanted in life.
In 1983, Sharon welcomed her first son, Eon, followed by her second son, Andre, in 1985. Motherhood came naturally to her, and she quickly became known for her nurturing spirit and unwavering devotion to her children and loved ones. Even from a young age, Sharon possessed a caring heart and a strong sense of responsibility toward those around her.
In 1984, Sharon’s parents migrated to the United States, while Sharon continued building her life and raising her family in Jamaica. In 1988, she migrated to the United States with her two oldest sons, determined to create new opportunities for herself and her family. While in the U.S., she completed her beauty school studies and continued a career as a hairstylist in New York, where her talent, warm personality, and genuine love for helping others allowed her to build lasting relationships with her clients and community.
In 1991, she welcomed her youngest son, William. In 1993, Sharon married the love of her life, Eon Green, in Manhattan, New York, and proudly became Sharon Rose Green. Later, in 1995, she relocated her family to Florida. Sharon transitioned into a career in healthcare, working as a nurse and home health aide. She devoted her life to caring for others, often placing the needs of family, friends, and patients before her own. Her compassion, selflessness, and strong work ethic touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. As a devoted mother, Sharon dedicated herself to raising her children and building a better future for her family. During a period when she and Eon followed separate paths, Sharon remained focused on her sons and her career, demonstrating the independence, determination, and resilience that defined her life. While Eon worked aboard cruise ships and Sharon worked tirelessly to provide for her family, their love endured through the years. In time, they found their way back to one another. Their reunion was a testament to a bond that time and distance could never break. Sharon’s beloved husband, Eon Green, preceded her in death in 2015.
Sharon was known for her impeccable sense of style and her love of fashion. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes, and she took great joy in looking her best while encouraging others to do the same. Those who knew her will forever remember her elegance, kindness, generosity, and caring nature. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, supported, and loved.
Sharon’s legacy is one of compassion, strength, hard work, and unconditional love. She dedicated her life to serving others and caring for her family, leaving behind cherished memories that will live on for generations. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children, Eon, Andre, and William; her daughter-in-law, Loni; her grandson, Christian; and her step-grandson, Darvin. She is also survived by her siblings, Yvonne, Gilda, Brian (Cindy), Peter, Karen, and Leighton, as well as her nieces and nephews Duane, Johan, Shomari, Shovon, Leonardo, Candice, Levin, Deandra, Dekara, Danielle, Deanna, and L-Jay, along with lots of extended family members and dear friends.
May she rest in eternal peace.
