Born February 21, 1947 in #2 Village Berbice, Guyana in South America. He graduated from George Brown College and worked as a production procurement materials manager for several companies over the years, including Rockwell International, Xerox, NEC, Uniden, 3M and Gate Precast. Vijai was a previous member of The Carrollton Evening Lions Club for many years and volunteered in many other service organizations. He served as vice president and secretary on the board of Oriole Golf and Tennis #1 Condominiums for the last few years of his life. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan and enjoyed tending his gardens, fishing, and cooking for his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his daughter, Marlene Balraj of Carrollton, TX are his brother, Bose Balraj and wife Pam of White Plains New York, sister, Baby Ramanan of Margate, FL, Shanti Balraj of Whistler, Canada, Silla Balraj of Margate, FL, Bibs Balraj of Yonkers, NY and mother of his children, Chandra Balraj of Carrollton, TX, several nieces, nephews and treasured friends. He is predeceased by his son, Jay Balraj, brother, Vasant Balraj and parents, Rekhai and Bephia Balraj
