Albert (Al) was born in Buffalo, New York to Edna and Albert G. Hartinger, Sr., on March 18, 1925. He married Jeanne Adelaide Fox in Vienna, Austria, while both were serving their country after World War II ended. They had a second wedding celebration with their family when both returned state-side. Al was married to his “southern belle” for 62 years.
Al served in World War II from 1943 to 1947. There he was part of the Normandy invasion and liberating the Nazi prison camps. When the war ended he stayed in Austria working in communications for the U. S. military government in Vienna.
Al began his professional career in 1949 with Peninsular Telephone Company making .90 per hour. Peninsular Telephone Company later became General Telephone Company and now Verizon. He retired from General Telephone Company of Florida after 37 years of service.
Al was a member of Lake Magdalene Church for 73 years and was the oldest member in the Friendship Sunday School class.
Retired member of the Independent Telephone Pioneer Association. A volunteer service group comprised of employees and retirees from communication companies throughout the United States.

Al is preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Hartinger, Tami Hartinger daughter-in-law, William (Billy) Corley son-in-law.
Al is survived by his daughter Cheryl Murray and her husband Jerry Murray (Tampa, Fl), his son Albert G. Hartinger III (Tampa, Fl), his daughter Keryl Corley (Thomson, GA), his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Marilyn Hartinger (Lockport, NY). He has three grandchildren all residing in Tampa. Regina Benoist, husband David, Ashlye Burgstiner, and Albert G. Hartinger IV. He has two great grandchildren Emma Benoist and Grayson Benoist. Three nieces, Lynn Walker (Donnie) New York, Lori Joseph (John) New York, Leann Glofka (Jake) Florida and many great nieces and nephews (New York and Florida)
