

Allison R. Burton, MD, age 46, of Tampa, passed away unexpectedly while on vacation in Mexico on June 6, 2026. Allison was born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on March 29, 1980, to Joan Schmader and Charles Burton.
Allison was driven by a passion for helping others and dedicated her life to the practice of medicine. She graduated from Chamberlain Senior High School before continuing her education at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Ross University School of Medicine. Allison proudly served as a Family Physician with Florida Medical Clinic – Orlando Health West Coast, where she was known for her compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her patients and colleagues.
Outside of her medical career, Allison treasured traveling with her family, particularly to the Caribbean islands, where she found peace and happiness by the water. An avid snorkeler, Allison loved exploring the beauty beneath the sea. She also loved celebrating the holidays and transforming her home with beautiful decorations for every occasion. Above all else, Allison's greatest pride and joy were her two sons, Griffin and Cameron. She was a devoted mother whose love, encouragement, and compassion shaped their lives from the very start.
Allison was preceded in death by her former father-in-law, Robert "Bob" J. Kubas, Sr., of Venice, Florida. She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Joan Schmader and her husband, Joseph ("Joe"), of Stuart, Florida; her father, Charles ("Chuck") Burton and his wife, Caryn, of Tampa, Florida; her former husband, Robert ("RJ") J. Kubas, Jr., of Tampa, Florida; her beloved sons, Griffin, age 12, and Cameron, age 9; her former mother-in-law, Brenda Kubas, of Venice, Florida; her sister, Adrienne Hand, of Stuart, Florida; her stepsister, Jennifer ("Jen") Burgett, of Yuma, Arizona; her stepbrothers, Michael Schmader, of Amite, Louisiana, and David Schmader, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; along with many uncles, cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and colleagues who will deeply miss her.
A memorial service of Allison's life will be held at 1pm on Saturday July 25, 2026 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, Florida. Guests may begin to arrive at 12:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Allison’s memory.
Though Allison's life was far too short, her kindness, generosity, and dedication to caring for others leaves a lasting legacy. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
