O’DONOGHUE, Alma L, 96, of Tampa, passed away January 16, 2019. Alma was born a farm girl in North Carolina and was an avid gardener; she would plant a stick and watch it flourish. She married James “Eddie” O’Donoghue June 10, 1950 and came to Tampa in 1957. They moved into their home in 1958 where she has since resided. Her back yard is the most beautiful one in the neighborhood. Alma worked in telecommunications for over 40 years; at Southern Bell and later at GTE. Alma was a loving wife, devoted mother, and an even better grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Marie O’Donoghue, son, Tony O’Donoghue, and husband of 66 years, Eddie O’Donoghue. She is survived by daughter, Cyndi (Steve) Capitano; son, Jim (Cindy) O’Donoghue Jr; sister, Faye Skinder Don); grandchildren, Robert Moore, Kelly Flannery, Becca Veillion, James O’Donoghue III, Brandy Ginzinger, Scott O’Donoghue, Jake O’Donoghue, Jared O’Donoghue and 7 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 6-7pm with a service at 7pm on Wednesday, January 23rd at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories. A graveside service will be held at 11am Thursday, January 24th at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
