Mrs. Alma Jean (Jeanie) Sartori passed peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. She is with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Klein Smith; her husband, retired Lt. Colonel Victor Sartori; and her son, Roger Sartori. She is survived by her sister, Inez Stephens; her son, Uwe Sartori; her daughter-in-laws, Pamela Sartori, Debbie Sartori; grandchildren, Kurt, Erik, Wendy, and Cody; nieces, Kelly and Karen; nephews, Jamie and Daniel.
Jeanie was born September 29, 1939, in Ohatchee, Alabama, to Eugene and Vera Smith. She graduated from Alexandria High School and embarked on a civil service career that would span 31 years with stateside and worldwide assignments. While managing a successful career at a time when women in America were just becoming family breadwinners, she raised two sons and supported her husband as he fulfilled his career pursuits. Her passions were the Lord, family, art, and furry animals. She painted in multiple mediums, quilted, sewed her own clothes and coats, designed and made stuffed animals, purses, and jewelry. She belonged to several quilting and sewing clubs, participated in showings, and won an honorable mention. Jeanie loved taking pictures, especially of beautiful flowers. She even took up poetry, music, and songwriting.
Jeanie was kind and compassionate, helping those in need, including her furry animals, like her tiny baby squirrel and the neighborhood cats. Her favorite form of witnessing for Christ was giving away books to family and friends that touched her spiritually, along with sharing her belief that the most glorious experience you could ever have in this life was Salvation; that accepting Christ as your savior was what mattered most. Truly, Jeanie is comforted and loved by the Lord, resting peacefully in His house forever.
