

Alta N. Barreda was born in Minatitlán, Jalisco, Colima, to Miguel Navarro and Delfina Ocho de Navarro on October 27, 1920. She attended school in Mexico City. After retirement, she earned a nursing degree and worked for Hospice for seven years. She then obtained an Electrical Engineering degree and worked for Dictaphone for five years. Alta was married to Dr. Luis Barreda, who predeceased her. She graduated from the Universidad De Mexico and worked as a Dentist/Oral Surgeon for over 30 years. She became involved in her church after receiving Christ in 1969, heading up the nursery of the church. She was very gifted in many ways; she spoke and taught French at the University of Mexico City, and was fluent in Spanish and English. One of the ways she supported her four children in the United States was by teaching and performing Hawaiian dancing.
Most of all, Alta was a wonderful mother. She left a legacy by her example of faith, her love for her family and others, and her fortitude. Her resilience and wisdom influenced countless people during her lifetime.
Alta N. Barreda is preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Barreda Navarro, and her son, Luis Manuel Barreda.

Barreda is survived by her daughter, María Eugenia Barreda Navarro; grandson, Ramon Guerrero Barreda and his spouse, Daniela Balderrama Guerrero, and their daughter, Daniela Guerrero Balderrama; grandson, Oscar Guerrero Barreda and his spouse, Catalina Macias Guerrero, and their daughters, Marien Guerrero Macias and Georgiana Guerrero Macias; granddaughter, Ana Sofia Guerrero Barreda and her spouse, Ezequiel Raffico.
She is also survived by her daughter, Ana Lilia Barreda; grandson, Jaime Alvarez Barreda; great-grandsons, Emilio Nicolas Barreda Rivas and Santiago Alvarez Quintero; grandson, Rodrigo Alvarez Barreda and his wife, Dulce Ma. Alvarez Jacobo, and their children, great-granddaughter, Fernanda Jacobo, great-granddaughter, Lilia Sophia Alvarez Barreda, and great-grandson, Diego Rodrigo Alvarez Jacobo.
Alta is survived by her son, José D. Barreda and his wife, Marla A. Barreda; granddaughter, Melissa Love Russell; granddaughter, Clarissa Sharmaine Wajdowicz and her daughter, great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Wajdowicz; grandson, Joshua Daniel Barreda; and granddaughter, Debani Eleise Rossini and her spouse, James Rossini.
