He was born in Monroeville, PA and went to Plum High School.
Alvin worked for 6 1/2 years at IDL, Inc, where he met his future wife. There, he formed life-long friendships. After moving to Florida in 1977, he went into the family business, Tree Line Sales and Service with his brother in law, Art Munch, to start a thriving business lasting over 20 years. Later, he and his wife made the move to North Carolina, where they formed some very special friendships. Eventually moving back to Florida to be with family. Al also became a 32nd degree Master Mason, which he was so proud.
To say he was an avid car enthusiast was an understatement. He passed on his love of cars to his son Damien, where they would checkout car shows almost every weekend.
Al was the Pittsburgh Steelers biggest fan and would critique every game with his Pittsburgh buddies.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Bair; father, Alvin E Dash, Sr.; and sister, Marlene Weaver.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Mary Lou; son, Damien (wife Michelle, Rylee, Rowen); sisters, Delores Groves, Beverly Munch, Alois Milne ( Ed); nieces, Debby Allison (Al), Cheryl Leavitt (Bill) and Michele Skinner (Robert); and his very best friend, (his brother from another mother), Ron Hagen, Bob Hagen (Mary Ellen), our dearest friends.
A huge thank you to Gulfside Hospice, especially nurses Kristen and Will, who gave us a sense of calm and comfort during his last days.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 10th, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Lakeshore Ranch Clubhouse, located at 19730 Sundance Lake Blvd, Land O Lakes, FL. 34638.
