

Angelo D’Amico was born in San Francisco, California to Domenico and Josephine D’Amico on October 25, 1931. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York where he attended Lafayette High School. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was stationed at Kimpo Air Force Base in Seoul, South Korea, and was awarded the Korean Service medal W/3 BS, United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Upon leaving the military, Angelo returned home to Brooklyn, where he married the love of his life, Dorothy. Angelo and Dorothy were married on May 5, 1957 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Brooklyn, New York. They had 5 children and moved out of Brooklyn to Long Island (Smithtown and Port Jefferson). The family moved to Florida in 1973, beginning in Apollo Beach before settling in Brandon in 1979. Angelo worked at the Port of Tampa and was a proud member of the International Longshoremen’s Association for over 30 years.
Angelo is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his five children Phillip (Rene), Angele, Gina, Anthony (Cathy), and Danielle (Matthew), and his nine grandchildren, Christa Sublett (Charles), Nicholas D’Amico (Mannie), Anthony D’Amico II (Alyssa), Devin D’Amico, Adam Trimble, Spenser Trimble, Emily Kemp, Katharine Kemp, and Casey Kemp, and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Phillip D’Amico, Anthony D’Amico, Nicholas D’Amico, Anthony D’Amico II, Matthew Kemp, and Charles Sublett.
Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Ave, Tampa, Florida, on May 2, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Committal Service will take place at Garden of Memories Cemetery directly after the funeral from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Jason Stibich, Edna Gonzalez of Legacy Care at Home, and LifePath Hospice for the wonderful care they took of our Poppy. Most importantly, Phillip, Angele, Anthony and Danielle want to thank our sister, Gina, for the love and care that she gave our father always, but especially in the last year of his life.
