Tío Güiso holds a special part in my heart because he was always looking out for my mom (Cucha) and me, as a child, a teenager, and as an adult.
When my husband and I returned to New York with our first daughter, he was the first relative to visit us in our apartment in Parkchester.
When I was a teenager he took Tita and me to my first concert, to see one of his favorite singers, Daniel Santos. That night I experienced my first Whiskey Sour, and then, unbeknownst to him, I also drank Tita’s. Needless to say, I was giddy😉.
I enjoyed hearing his stories every time I visited Florida. On one of my trips I was able to take mom, and another time visited with my dad, Miguel, and my brother and sister in law. We would take him some Puerto Rican pastries, which he really enjoyed!
He will be missed. He is loved!

Condolences to the Resto family. Tio "Guiso" was one of 13 brothers and sisters, all born in Puerto Rico. With his passing 3 siblings still remain living. He had a passion for travel, especially enjoying long drives. In his later years he settled in Florida. He shared his final years with his wife "Tina". He leaves many nieces and nephews, who will remember him always. May you Rest In Peace 💜
