Aurelio was a lifelong learner. Aurelio served four years enlisted as a surgical nurse in the U.S. Air Force. Aurelio then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati's Conservatory of Music as a concert pianist. Following his musical career, Aurelio would earn a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Education. Professionally, Aurelio would go on to become one of the first premiere bilingual educators in the country earning both Ohio state and national accolades. Aurelio would principal and pilot one of the nation’s first entirely bilingual elementary schools. Aurelio would devote his entire 34 years of education to Hamilton County, Ohio before retiring in 1998.
Aurelio was preceded in death by his companion of 40 years, Dr. Kent Hollenbeck and his brother Sergio Leon and brother in law Jimmy Millard. Surviving family include his sister, Delia Millard and nephews Sergio, Drake, Troy and Mark along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
Aurelio preferred only a graveside service which will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, Florida.
