Ava Nell Jones

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Louis C. Philippus. She married James H. Jones on December 18, 2012 and was preceded by him in death as well, in 2015. Both were very good Christian men.

Ava is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Ann Johnson; and nieces: Cathy Perry (Dale), Marsha Write (Dan), nephew: John Driggers (Debbie); 40 years of loving friendship with Teresa and Gary Hay; Loving caregivers: Jamie Stewart, Kim Hector, and Marisol Cano .

Ava was born in Jackson, Tennessee, and lived there until she was 13; then, came to live in Florida, where she lived for the rest of her life. She accepted the Lord when she was 11, and attended church all of her life. She was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church.

Friends and Family will be received for Visitation on Thursday, September 15, 2022 between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home At Garden Of Memories, 4207 E Lake Avenue, Tampa 33610. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by Interment at Garden Of Memories Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
